Crayola Crayon Wreath DIY

Crayola Crayon Wreath DIY

This one was made for my daughter’s Teacher for Christmas , Dec. 2012
The items I used, for the size I made, are below. It will depend on your own choice of size. I say buy extra crayons and return the ones not used, or buy I big pack and save the rest for future activities, or to melt down 🙂
Items used on the wreath featured:
Spare card board
Exacto Knife
Curling ribbon
Hot Glue or Tacky Glue
Fruit bowl (optional)
Morton salt bottle (optional)

Okay, so first you get a spare piece of cardboard , or foam tag board. I used a fruit bowl , and put it top down and lightly traced it to make the size of the wreath.
Second I grabbed my salt package, it doesn’t matter if empty or full. I put it in the center of my first tracing, and lightly traced the salt container.
Third, I grabbed my exacto knife and cut the second circle out, thus creating the wreath.
Now, grab your crayons, and space them how you want on the wreath. I put the salt container in the middle to help with my evenness and spacing. You can choose your color order, (I’m OCD so it was color cordinated , haha) how close or far to space them.
After you have all your crayons laid out, start gluing them down. Once they are glued, let dry for 1-2 mins.
Before you attach your bow, add your curling ribbon in desired place and lightly curl.
Attach your bow, I chose the bottom.
After that, Attach ribbon at the top to hang it later on.
And BAM BABY, You are done. 🙂
I used 3, 24 count boxes of Crayola Crayons. But I didn’t use all of them, and I set my extras to the side for another use.
My daughter’s teacher loved it! And you can even make on for your Daycare providers, Your house, a play room. Makes a fun project to do with your kids for any holiday or teacher birthday!
Enjoy please post pics if you makes one!

** This idea was not though of by myself, I was inspired by a photo I ran upon on pinterest. All I did was recreate my own version 🙂 **

New Earring Display !!

So, at my last craft fair I seen different sorts of earrings displays, and was on the hunt for one. Well, I finally found the cutest one, and at the flea market none the less. I was excited to find them, it was a little steep for what it is, for the flea market, but a steal none the less. I have been storing it in the corner for months waiting to use it. And today I finally started hanging them. I have them by styles and gold or silver.

I now have an even bigger urge to stay up late and knock out some new designs to fill the rest of it.

Well, for $18 , it wasn’t bad. Cause I am a nerd like that and I love new things and being able to play with them lol.

Here are some pics of the top , it has 6 rows, and 6 pairs a side, and it has four sides. So it holds tons of earrings. And its pretty cute and old fashioned looking, Ill try to squeeze a picture in it tomorrow, but until then here is what it looks like so far. Enjoy..

What is your inspiration?

As the seasons are changing it is time to create new pieces and to use new color choices. It seems summer was not a hott commodity. lol.

I look forward to the upcoming seasons, as with crafts it allows you to be more creative and weird and to think outside the box.

What inspires you to craft when you don’t feel like it?

Lately I have not been feeling the juices flowing. I want to craft, I am sitting at my craft table, staring at all I have to use, and I have hit a craft block. And the things I want to make, are time consuming. Maybe I am being lazy, but still nothing pops into my head, or sticks out. I don’t want the norm, I want different, beautiful. Ayayay, The joys of being a thinker. There is always a problem.

I need to come up with new ideas, but seems people want simple. Simple is so boring , and …. simple. Well, to me. Lately. I feel as if with all the competition out there, you need to be different to stand out. But I guess different and bold are two different things?

Have you hit this kind of craft block before? If so , how did you get out of yours?

Well, tonight is the night. I hope, that my block goes away so I can create things. Maybe I will switch it up. I will scraobook tonight. Thats different. Hmmmm. I love scrapbooking, now a trip to print pictures is in my future. LOL.

I hope this craft block leaves soon. ❤

Etsy Shops

Who else here on WordPress has an Etsy shop? Does anyone know how I can make a store banner?

It seems as though I need one, but do not know how to make one. I also have many more questions about Etsy. Like how to increase sales, how to promote, and so on. I know I can pay to promote, but that cost more than any of the items listed haha.

I have been networking like a mad woman , yet I still feel as though I am seeing no results. Its driving me crazy! And I don’t want to keep adding items, and taking all my time to snap the pic, upload, edit, and insert into every website. I know I should cuz it is my business, however it takes alot of time and effort and its been 6 months and I am seeing no increase in sales, no increase in views or anything. What else can I do. I just do know.

So , if anyone knows anything about Etsy, or can share your successes that would be great. Because I would really love to increase my revenue, and client base. As do we all. But lets help one another, share tips and what has worked for you. Well… We shall see. I am on the hunt for an Etsy banner lol.
